About Us
We publish a free, modern browser take on the Little Alchemy element-combining genre — start with four elements, fuse them two at a time, and discover a hand-built tree of 157.
Our craft
Two things in, one new thing out.
Every design choice serves that one loop: read the library, pick a pair, see what it makes, repeat.

What we make
littlechemist.app is the site behind our element-combining game. The product is a single-player puzzle: place elements on an open workspace, drop one on another to fuse them, and work towards discovering all 157.
We are not an app-store publisher and there is nothing to download. The game is the website. That keeps load times short, works on phones and desktops alike, and avoids an account wall. Your discoveries live in local browser storage on your device.
If you are comparing this to Little Alchemy or Little Alchemy 2, Little Chemist is a separate, unaffiliated game with its own element set and interface. The mechanics described in our how-to-play guide and FAQ match this exact build.
Our story
The combine-two-things format has a long history online. We treat that as a reason to get the tree right and the friction as close to zero as we can.
Browser games about merging two things into a third appeared in the late 2000s under names like Alchemy and Doodle God. The format was simple and oddly compelling: a grid of icons, a canvas, and a hidden recipe table to reverse-engineer one combination at a time.
Little Alchemy (2010) and Little Alchemy 2 (2017) refined the idea to its cleanest form — exactly two elements per recipe, a tidy library, and a soft, hand-drawn look. They became the reference point for the whole genre and are still widely played.
Little Chemist is an independent take on that format. It is not affiliated with Little Alchemy. What is different is a hand-built tree of 157 elements, a modern dark interface with a search box and unlimited hints, a workspace that pans smoothly on a phone, and synthesized sound with a real mute — all in a static, fast-loading page.
What we stand for
Open the page and the four base elements are already there. No account wall, no download, no splash video — you can make mud before you finish reading this sentence.
No score, no timer, no streak to protect, no failure state. The only thing tracked is how much of the tree you have uncovered, and you can put it down and come back anytime.
Your discoveries live on your device. We do not hold your progress behind a login, because there is no login.
The whole game is free forever. No energy meters, no interstitial video ads between discoveries, no paywall on the hint button.
Who it is for
littlechemist.app is a family-friendly, single-player game with no chat and no store. A poor fit if you want multiplayer or live events; a good fit if you want a calm, open-ended puzzle you can pick up on any screen.
A handful of discoveries takes a few minutes. Little Chemist is built for a phone on the couch or a browser tab between tasks, not a long campaign.
There is nothing to react to and no clock. The whole game is the question "what does this make?" asked over and over.
Your record stays on the device you played on. That is a deliberate trade: instant play and real privacy, with no cloud restore.
Why this site
There are many element-combining games online. This one exists to ship a single honest, fast version — a coherent tree, modern tools, and no clutter.
Every one of the 157 elements is reachable from air, earth, fire, and water, and the recipes were written by hand so the branches make sense: materials, weather, life, civilization, and space.
A search box once the library grows, a sort toggle, unlimited hints that never spoil more than one step, and a bin so a crowded workspace is one drag from tidy.
No auto-playing video, no fake "install our app" banners, no dark patterns around the menu. The how-to-play guide and FAQ describe this exact game, not a generic write-up.
How we build
The game runs entirely on the web: fast loads, drag / tap / keyboard controls, and progress that stays local unless you clear your browser data. We use lightweight analytics to see what helps players — never to gate the game behind a profile. The game on the home page is the one described on our rules pages, so search results and the live game never drift apart.
Phone, tablet, and desktop share one workspace. Drag with a mouse, use a finger on a touchscreen, or use the keyboard shortcuts for hints, clearing, and mute.
Discovered elements and your completion percentage are stored locally. You own the continuity of your record without signing up.
We watch aggregate usage through Google Analytics to improve pacing and polish. Details are in our Privacy Policy — never as a sales pitch.
